Innovating the market of agents for biological pest control in sugar cane crops, BUG Biological Agents is inserted in the national and international market with the highest production technology and quality control, developed jointly with ESALQ-USP.
BUG offers the customers two parasitoid species to control sugar cane borer (Diatraea saccharalis): Trichogramma galloi and Cotesia flavipes.
Trichogramma galloi is a wasp used in the control of sugar cane borer eggs and is therefore highly efficient in immediate decrease of the pest population, that is, within the same season in which the attack occurs. Sales and shipping are done through the Brazilian market's newest releasing technique, BUG Cells, thus allowing higher parasitoid efficiency and protection in the field.
Cotesia flavipes is also a wasp used to control sugar cane borer worms, with more advantageous use in areas in which the borer is inside the cane stalks. The use can be associated to T. galloi, increasing the borer control efficiency at two distinct pest stages (egg and worm) and providing faster decrease of the pest infestation.
The efficiency in the control of the sugar cane borer is especially related to the proper use of the controlling agents. To release two parasitoids, distinct measures must be taken, one of them shown in the product's folder. Send an e-mail to receive our products and sales catalogues.
